What a great infographic! And the Blendspace--great idea for student books. I've never thought to use Blendspace that way.
ReplyDeleteThanks Jacqui! Truth is that I wasn't planning on putting the books into Blendspace. I was trying to create one class book on Book Creator and then link that to the teacher's webpage. I cannot figure out how to do that. This will be my summer goal. So, I had all of their little books and Blendspace came to mind. Blendspace is my "Go To" for multiple links!
DeleteYour blendspace looks great. How exactly did you do that? Did the kids all have access to the blendspace or id you just take their work and house it in the blendspace?
ReplyDeleteHi Andy! To begin with, the students used the app "Book Creator" to work out word problems in math. They emailed them to me as a PDF and I put them into Blendspace. I absolutely love Blendspace. If you don't know about it, go immediately to www.blendspace.com and create an account. The students don't actually put the work in, I do that. But, you can make a class list and send them a Blendspace that you create for them to use. You can put a video in one tile, then create a small quiz to check for understanding. It's also a great tool for you as you create lessons because the research tools are built in.

ReplyDeleteNice infographic outlining the math workshop. Are you using this as evidence for the Mass. Ed. Eval.? This is an awesome way to demonstrate the standards. I've never used Book Creator - can you explain does each student have their own "book" they will be updating? Did you the combine the books in Blendspace (which I haven't used either)? Just wondering - it looks like a great way to have students share their work and demonstrate knowledge.
ReplyDeleteBlendspace is the website/program of the century so go sign up for your free account immediately!! It will change your world! There are 30 second video tutorials to help you get started. I have all of my teachers, including myself, using it for ed eval! The beautiful thing about it is that it is a website link so once you upload it you can continue to upload evidence and it will add it to the existing Blendspace for your evaluators! I use it for my own lessons and I make them for students to use. You can upload any file to students as well as create test questions right on the tile to check for understanding. This is the greatest!
DeleteI love your info graphic on your unit on time! It is so easy to read and follow what you completed on your unit. Great idea and I think that I will try to use it as well. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteThanks Julie! I am now creating infographics for everything! They are so fun and easy to use. I'm glad that we were introduced to it in this course!
